UN announces military leadership team to stabilize Haiti and Middle East

March 28, 2011

I’ve been around the block long enough to know that when the UN steps into a destabilized nation to bring “stability”, it really means that they’re effectively taking over the country and opening it up for its own (read EU & US) interests. It’s no surprise that the UN has announced a military team to assist in the transition of government(s) in Haiti and the Middle East. I’m more interested in hearing the justifications when Libya, Egypt, and Haiti become US and EU “provinces”.

Who knows? It might be good for business; as tourism in those nation states will undoubtedly skyrocket and some roads might actually get paved. Maybe Starbucks and Wal-Mart will show up to civilize and employ the locals. Again, who knows?

I might be a cynic, but all of this high and mighty international policing smells like a good old-fashioned occupation and takeover to me.
